April brought a genuinely new platform capability, the next chapter in forest planning, and a batch of usability improvements that add up to a noticeably smoother experience.
New Features
Company Layers
You can now add your own GIS layers at the company level, and they'll show up across all your site and company site maps.
Until now, custom layers were a site-level feature - you could upload and display your own spatial data, but only when viewing a single site. If you wanted that same layer visible across your whole portfolio, you were out of luck. Company Layers changes that. Upload a shapefile or other layer once at company level, and it's available wherever you need it.
This is particularly useful when you're working with data that spans multiple sites - LUC boundaries, catchment boundaries, erosion layers, planting plans. Instead of re-uploading or switching between sites, the layer is just there.
We've also added version history and restore support for company layers, so if you need to roll back to a previous version of an uploaded layer, you can.

What Else?
Paste to Split tool - You can now split forest polygons using shapes from your clipboard. The workflow: select polygons from a custom layer, copy them, switch to the forest polygons layer, and use the new "Paste to Split" tool to split your existing polygons along those boundaries. Locked polygons are ignored. This is a real time-saver for anyone working with LUC layers and needing to split planting polygons by LUC class.
Paste to Split tool in action Forest planning improvements - You can now add multiple events per forest rotation via a new dropdown "Select event type". Currently available for planting and clearing, this allows you to stage multiple events at different dates for the same forest. Let's say you planted some natives in 2024 and have just done some in-fill plantings - you can add a second planting event in 2026 for the same forest area. You can also plan future harvest events and forecast your NZU liabilities if you are registered in the ETS. We've added extra columns in our Carbon Intelligence CSV export to cover this.
Add planting or clearance forest events Task visibility at site level - When you're viewing tasks at a site level, the "Show all tasks" toggle now defaults to on. Previously it defaulted to off, which meant you had to manually turn it on every time. You can still override it per session.
See all tasks, completed or otherwise Assignee shown by name - User assignee bubbles are now shown by name instead of email address. This is particularly helpful for teams where email prefixes don't match names cleanly - no more guessing who "B" is when three people on the team have names starting with B.
Ten credit schemes now supported - You can now select from ten credit schemes instead of just two. You can also use custom species sequestration curves regardless of which credit scheme is being used.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a data validation error where a non-string segment descriptor was breaking economics updates for affected customers.
Fixed a Pinus radiata species configuration issue where the species was missing a region assignment.
Fixed an issue where scattered forest polygons under 1ha with native species were being automatically suggested as "ETS Eligible Native".
Stay tuned for more updates next month!
